Welcome to the talon online

The Talon Online is the online version Alameda Science and Technology Institutes bi-monthly newsletter. Our goal is to provide our commmunity with high quality news and articles pertaining to both our school and the world around us. This is a project that has been in the works for a long period of time, and has finally become a reality. We hope you enjoy the site and check back often.

As a side note, please excuse any blanks in the website as we are still working to construct and build new components to make this as pleasurable experience possible.

Why The SWitch?

The Talon has always been an integral part of bringing news to our communities. Although there were no real problems with physical copies of the newsletter we are constantly pushing to make our publications and the way we are run better.Listed below are the many reasons behind the switch.

  1. To stay true to our name of a "Science & Technology" School.
  2. To reduce our enviornmental footprint. We are no longer printing our newsletter, thus we are saving a number of trees!
  3. As we eliminate printing, we reduce our spending, allowing us to use our fundraising money for other journalistic needs (cameras,apparel, etc)

Having our newsletter online opens up the door to numerous possiblities. The internet and websites truly have no limits! As we continue to grow, look out for things such as:

What else has changed?

One of the more prominent changes to the newsletter is The Talon's new logo. Traditionally, The Talon used the basic Phoniex logo, but with the implementation of the new website, it was important to create our own image to help set us apart from the school as well as to keep up with the theme of newness The goal was to create a logo that was sleek, simple, and got the job done. We feel that each of those qualities are reflected by the new logo and hope that our audience is equally as impressed.
